Interior Love- Anarchy in the U.K.

Since I was a kid, I have always been exposed to the British culture through T.V. shows my dad would watch (Ab Fab, Faulty Towers, Father Ted). Needless to say, I became a fan of this small island country rather early in life. It was the first country that I visited as an adult (with my bestie) and my obsession was validated in a single trip!

From the homes of friends to British shops to restaurants, it is easy to see that there is a flair for design in this country. When I saw this post on apartment therapy I was thrilled! It reminds me of this book that my friend has New London Style - which is awesome, totally worth checking out. Here's an ode to the Union Jack and English style!

P.S. for those looking for union jack type of furniture in the U.S. check out H.D. Buttercup

Interior Love- Emily Henderson

I love clothes and I love interiors! So when I heard Design Star contestant Emily Henderson's show idea  (combining personal fashion with interior design) I thought it was brilliant!  Then I saw the sunroom that she designed for the last episode and fell in love with her even more! I really hope that she wins! The final episode airs this Sunday @ 10pm on HGTV. Good Luck Emily!

This week Apartment Therapy gives up a look into the Star's L.A. diggs. As beautiful as her TV designs and definitely lustworthy, her space really inspires! That velvet couch? Amazing! This place is a juxtaposition of many cool, well designed things. Enjoy!!

Locker Love- part 2

In this blog post I expressed my love for the locker as a storage unit. After looking and looking we found a locker that we really love. Although it hasn't been hard to find a locker unit, it has been hard to find the ideal one. This weekend we went to a shop in Hollywood called Rehab Vintage, it had an amazing mix of refinished industrial metal kind of pieces. This weekend we bought a vintage refinished file cabinet, it's soooo cool!

We talked to the owner of Rehab Vintage and said that he'd search out the perfect piece from his sources. Super Exciting!! In only a matter of time we will have the storage that we've always wanted! yay! I'll give you a photo update when we get the piece!

Our ideal locker unit:

I would really love one of these for the office- they can customize it!

Interior Love- DIY taxi pillow

Ever since I saw this post about taxi pillows I have wanted one for myself but the ones that I've seen in stores/online haven't been quite right. So when I found this DIY tutorial this morning via Design Sponge I was ecstatic! Finally, a taxi pillow that will look just right in my place!

Here are a few shots of their finished project and some of my favorite taxi pillows

Interior Notes: Locker Love

It's been about 2 months since we moved into our awesome loft! It's really an inspiring, amazing place to be. Although all of our stuff is in this new space some of it doesn't have a proper place to be due to the lack of closet space, so it sits there until we find the perfect storage piece. My ideal find would have to be an industrial style locker. I love the mix of industrial elements in a modern environment.

The initial inspiration for the love of all things locker came from a visit to an incredible furniture store in Culver City called H.D. Buttercup. If you live in the L.A. area and happen to love interior design, you MUST visit this place! It seriously houses all genres of interior style under one roof, there is something for everyone!

Here are some great photos that share love of locker:

...and if you don't want to go full locker, but like an industrial detail you can add some vintage locker baskets and or tags to any decor. Here are some great Etsy finds:
