Mercinary Clothing Look Book Collaboration

Aside from running the Salon Mystique vintage shop, I am also a hairstylist and makeup artist. I have long ago given up working in a salon for a variety of reasons (including nasty chemicals) instead of working behind the chair, I really love using my talents for styling hair and make up for photo shoots. It's so rewarding to see some amazing final images in front of you.

The last shoot I worked on was for a small clothing line out of LA called Mercinary. It's only a sneak peek of the entire lookbook, but I love it nonetheless. Mercinary has really cute, ultra fantastic clothes and I was so happy to take part in a great project with amazing people. More to come soon!

Hey Ho, Let's Go! An ode to The Ramones

Yesterday I was waiting for my boyfriend to get ready (funny, right?) when suddenly this song understandably gets stuck in my head. It got me thinking about how much the Ramones influence my personal style throughout the years.

I must admit that I have always been a fan and back in the day I would more often thank not rock some version of ripped jeans, sneakers and a pair of Converse but now-a-days my style mostly centers around a leather jacket. Getting this classic song stuck in my head reminded me of the Ramones box set that I owned in High School and how I would listen to The Ramones when I was getting ready for school, but I digress...

Here is an ode to The Ramones and their impeccable and influential style.

LCD Soundsystem Live at Yves Saint Laurent

LCD Soundsystem is always at the top when it comes to favorite bands so I was excited that YSL commissioned LCD to play a new and delightfully unique tune while the models cruised the runway. This was broadcast live from the YSL site and unfortunately I missed it live, but thankfully the internet has saved the day! Here's for all you LCD lovers out there!

Oh, and I have been loving Karl Lagerfeld's guide to Life. It's absolutely brilliant!

Funny and entertaining, this video has some outrageous ideas for the fashion's "future" while others are actually pretty spot on.

That's How I Roll - Anything but plain, please

What I choose to wear day to day is determined by weather I am on my bike or not. When I am on my bike the go to garment has definitely got to be leggings, they are easy to wear, stylish, comfortable and you can still wear your favorite dress or skirt without worrying about giving a free peep show. Having style while I'm on two wheels is pretty important to me and what can I say, I guess I'm a little vain.

That said, I have tons of pairs of the same old plain black leggings and this sent me on a quest to find something a little bit different to break up the monotony of my bike outfits. I scoured Etsy to bring you all my favorite legging finds.

Leather Like Details
available at malu7

These leggings may look like they are just basic black, but this beautiful pair has a great spandex patch detail that looks a little like leather. Unleash your inner bad girl!

Tie it up
Available at MyLolaFashion

I love the dainty tie detail at the bottom of these leggings, super cute! A great pair to wear with a super cool skirt. These leggings will make your outfit stand out above the rest!

Playful with a pop

If you are looking to add a pop of color to your outfit, these are the leggings to go with! A great vibrant turquoise color with two super cute swallows on the back, a great surprise!

Black and Gold
Available at thrills

I adore these hand painted leggings! The gold detailing is subtle and stunning at the same time. A great way to add a flash of sparkle, super cool!

A touch of Class
Available at malu7

This cute pair has a hint of Missoni behind them. Love it! Would look amazing with a white lace dress or skirt. How awesome are these?

Tattoo like Tights

 Available at post

Alright, so I know these aren't technically leggings but what they are is technically awesome! I love the illusion of having a tattoo on your legs. I'm sure that these get tons of attention when worn. Amazing!

Marc Jacobs says There's so much striving for newness now that newness feels less new.

Cynthia Steffe- Fall 2010

Yay! New York fashion week is finally here!!!

I really loved fell in love with this collection when I first saw it; it's good mix of school girl uniform + some inspiration from the 60's. I adore the knee highs and I think that the layering was well done. Love, Love, Love it!
