I LOVE this song (Home) by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, who doesn't? It's a pretty fantastic song. I adore the vintage-y video effects and the clothing choices in this video. Have a happy Tuesday!!

Style Icon- Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde
Gorgeous and talented, this woman doesn't just have great style she has major talent. Her role in The Network won her an academy award (it's a really good movie) and she also played an exceptional Bonnie in the 1967 classic Bonnie and Clyde. Her outfits are amazing, so modern and fresh!

Interior Love- Emily Henderson
I love clothes and I love interiors! So when I heard Design Star contestant Emily Henderson's show idea (combining personal fashion with interior design) I thought it was brilliant! Then I saw the sunroom that she designed for the last episode and fell in love with her even more! I really hope that she wins! The final episode airs this Sunday @ 10pm on HGTV. Good Luck Emily!
This week Apartment Therapy gives up a look into the Star's L.A. diggs. As beautiful as her TV designs and definitely lustworthy, her space really inspires! That velvet couch? Amazing! This place is a juxtaposition of many cool, well designed things. Enjoy!!

Top 5 Thrifting Tips
Thrifting can be overwhelming- racks and racks of endless clothing, endless possibilities. To make sure you get something that you really want and love you must first have a game plan. Here are some great tips to help your next trip go from stressful to successful.
1) Wear Something Yawn Worthy- The less interesting you look, the less interested people will be in what you're looking at. It sucks to have someone following you around inspecting what you put down- sometimes you want to go back and look at that same thing. My favorite outfit- Super basic jeans and a tee.
2) Go in With a Solid Plan- So you want to find a shirt? Start in the tops section. It's the best way to go in, otherwise you may loose your focus. Start at one spot and work your way around.
3) You Don't Have to Look Through EVERYTHING! - The best way is to slowly visually inspect what's on the racks- if there is a color, pattern or cut that you love pick it up and inspect it. This is the best way to find the coolest things!
4) Check for fit- Try things on, just to make sure they fit- it's the best way to make sure you don't waste your cash. Better safe than sorry.
5) Closely inspect your picks- So you've found your ideal top- you love the color and fit. Now you want to make sure there are no fatal flaws. Check for stains, rips and missing buttons or zippers. No flaws? Sweet! you have just purchased your favorite new (used) top!
Happy Thrifting!!

Mercinary Clothing Look Book Collaboration
Aside from running the Salon Mystique vintage shop, I am also a hairstylist and makeup artist. I have long ago given up working in a salon for a variety of reasons (including nasty chemicals) instead of working behind the chair, I really love using my talents for styling hair and make up for photo shoots. It's so rewarding to see some amazing final images in front of you.
The last shoot I worked on was for a small clothing line out of LA called Mercinary. It's only a sneak peek of the entire lookbook, but I love it nonetheless. Mercinary has really cute, ultra fantastic clothes and I was so happy to take part in a great project with amazing people. More to come soon!
